Job purpose

Provides robust support on the execution of ER /  IR end to end tasks, acting as focal point and team player for employee relations / industrial relations matters, and assigned projects in this area related with RPI, (1)  Executing the preparation, development, implementation and update of core ER matters,  (2)  Executes IR service excellence solutions that align with strategy / Omani Law and technical priorities for the RPI, and (3) Contribute with ER/ IR projects tasks, to facilitate the cultural transformation, LEAN, digitalisation process of the Company, in line with Oman 2040 strategy; in order to support the achievement of IR / ER strategies programs to ensure the effective IR / ER  service across RPI functions. 

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Aspiration and Values, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Act as team player for all assigned ER/ IR matters / tasks/ process/ programs/ projects / across RPI; in order to monitoring their progress, identifying, and resolving bottlenecks and issues, and reporting on progress/status on a timely basis.
  • Deliver assigned tasks and communications among RPI functions related ER / IR matters, and ensure proper understanding, adherence to Omani Law and Company policies, and timely coordinate the resolution across the teams.
  • Propose and participate in preparing employee relations strategies for RPI
  • Implement local rules & regulations relating to relevant country Labour law, monitor and analyze changes in trends and regulations, propose pro-active recommendations direction and impact.
  • Provide support on ER/IR matters – People’s and RPI leaders through the active facilitation and resolution of issues, in alignment with Omani country Labor Law, OQ Policies and procedures, and relevant frame.
  • Participate in preparing Employee Relation programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in conducting different staff survey, analyze and present the findings, and track the action plans.
  • Guide stakeholders in fact-findings, in order to provide necessary context to resolve disputes, grievances or disciplinary cases.
  • Coordinate and research into Employee relations cases, in order to identify trends, patterns or aggravating that could mitigate the circumstances.

Internal: RPI

External: Staffing specialized Contractors, Vendors & Suppliers. Ministry of Manpower / Trade Union Federation / In-country Value (ICV) / OPAL –Oman Society for Petroleum Services/ CCI – Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment, intensive computer screen use, travel, and visits to operation sites.

Education requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or related area.

Language

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (Essentially required)

Native Arabic: Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken Arabic. (Essentially required)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Omani National
  • Working experience in Industrial Relation, Employee relations in Industry (preferred Oil & Energy) environment among different geographic locations.
  • Working experience in Omani labour law
  • Working experience in HR System
  • Working experience in HR areas including:
    • Industrial Relations,
    • Total Compensation and Benefits,
    • HR Policies and procedures

  • Ability to engage and manage complex stakeholder relations.
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented and able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with and influence a multi discipline teams across People Technology & Culture and the business.
