Job Purpose:
Provide thoughts, insights, guidance, advice while leading and executing Strategic Sourcing & Planning at RPI, under Head of Procurement Performance and Strategic Sourcing scope, acting as the most senior / Principal SME, for the procurement and sourcing activities for goods and services in a strategic and cost-effective manner. Lead procurement planning aligned with business and financial goals. Derive actionable insights from spend, contract portfolio and market analysis. Identify and support contract optimization and performance improvement opportunities. Assess supply chain risks and support strategic supplier management. Synthesize procurement insights to support leadership decisions and stakeholder alignment.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |

Main tasks and responsibilities
Provide thoughts, insights, guidance, advice on development and implementation of selected category management and strategic sourcing strategies. Lead Procurement Planning activities, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, operational requirements, and financial objectives. Support Contract Performance Review activities, identify, analyze and synthesize the outcomes assuring clear disposition and actionable learnings. Conduct detailed spend analysis for major spend categories. Provide thoughts, insights, guidance, advice on the identification and implementation of contract optimization opportunities. Perform targeted market intelligence and analysis, monitoring local, regional, and global trends, identifying emerging suppliers, innovative solutions, and disruptive technologies that enhance competitiveness. Conduct supply chain risk assessments, covering key suppliers’ health check, geopolitical, logistic risks, Sustainability & ESG considerations. Provide thoughts, insights, guidance, advice on selected major negotiations and supplier relationship management initiatives. Support leadership strategic planning and decision-making by synthesizing the procurement “big picture”; provide insights and actionable recommendations based on contextual environments dynamics, organization future plans, competitive market dynamics and identified risks. Facilitate and moderate “Procurement strategic Review”. Liaise with all internal customers as required

Education requirements |
Minimum qualification is a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Production Operations Management, or equivalent |
