Principal Lean Coach
Job purpose
Lead the development of continuous improvement culture & practices at RPI (LEAN), under Head of Continuous improvement scope’s, acting as Senior Matter and advisor for the assigned areas / projects at RPI, by identify requirement for short-, mid- and long-term business plan assuring that processes are developed, implemented, and performed to a satisfactory standard to add sustainable and long-term value to the RPI Assets.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Develop the implementation plans of the Continuous Improvement culture, practices & activities (LEAN) for the assigned area at RPI, ensuring those are aligned with RPI objectives.
- Train, coach, support mentor, the CI Practitioners in the application of the continues Improvement methodologies (LEAN) and the selection and use of the tools and techniques required.
- Support/Work with others/Assist so that improvements identified, quantified within the nominated projects are realized and maintained.
- Organize multidisciplinary teams (process organization), where necessary, and manage improvement projects.
- Provide “internal” consultancy in advanced statistics and participate, advice & develop required systems for the CI department.
- Assist in the identification of suitable improvement projects, the determination of the scope of the selected improvement project and periodic reviews of the improvement projects.
- Participate in all gate reviews directly through Assisted/prepared presentations of the work accomplished to-date with an emphasis on the accomplishments in the phase being reviewed.
- Provide training and coaching in the tools and techniques associated with process improvement methodologies to CI Practitioners, process owners, champions and working teams as required.
- Determine if any training activities are appropriate and effective.
- lead improvement projects as required.
- Train, coach and mentor, OQ teams on effective way-of-working.
- Support development of continues improvement culture transformation (LEAN) road map.
- Support implementation of continues improvement culture transformation (LEAN) road map
- Support business to develop continues improvement (LEAN) maturity levels.
- Support the setting of culture transfer/maturity objectives, develop plan, managing implementation and motivating team to own and participate.
- Support the CI capability development skills for the assigned function.
- Advise management within assigned function on the CI practices that can overcome business challenges.
- Partner with the RPI Functions Management working collaboratively in identifying the business opportunities and threats. Provide valuable in the performance requirements of the operational/Business Line.
- Support and advice on the management of change through continuous improvement of functional systems, processes and practices considering global standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.
Education requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Master Lean six sigma Black belt certificate, training Skills, Coaching skills.
Black belt lean six sigma (minimum requirements), training the trainer certificate, coaching certificate are highly preferred.
Language requirements Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic - Native (desirable)
Background and experience
• 12+ years of relevant experience
• Working experience in:
- Leading/facilitating Business Process improvement projects (lean, six sigma, kaizen events,).
- Develop Continues improvement capabilities development (training & coaching).
- Training & Coaching executive management on continues improvement aspects (waste reduction, variation reduction, Go-See, LSW, value stream management,)
- Stakeholder management and presentations to Executive Leadership
- Operation or maintenance or Technical or services (in Refinery & Petrochemical is preferable) Soft:
