Job Purpose
Provides thoughts, insights, guidance and strong support while creating, maintaining, and managing a production /operation Plant scheduling at RPI processing facilities under Manager Plant scheduling scope, acting as SME & main focal point between Commercial Optimization and the Refinery/Producing Asset (SR/AP/ LPIC/MAF) on plant Scheduling, by; (1) Developing and maintaining the production schedule, including creating a schedule that balances demand, capacity, and resources to ensure safe operations involving Plan Scheduling end-to-end process, (2) Leading the direct communications with the assets production units for Plant scheduling activities purposes, and provide efficient and accurate feedback regarding the production schedule and its progress to stakeholders, including management, customers, and suppliers,
(3) Ensure that any changes to Production Schedule, is in agreement with Commercial Optimization, procurement, engineering, and quality control, to ensure that all aspects of the production process are aligned as is expected, (4) Ensure that the monthly Production Schedule in the assigned plant (s) (SR/AP/ LPIC/MAF) is fully optimized on weekly/daily basis, and based on maximizing the plant/unit availability and flexibility, in line with the commercial opportunities, and manage production constraints that could impact the schedule, (5) Maintaining and developing updates on APS scheduling tool to reflect actual asset operational capability against an agreed rolling plan, and (6) Mentoring and developing talent across Plant Scheduling and build capabilities of other specialists, providing training, and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives; in order to ensure the production is aligned with the delivery commercial destination point and subsequently, the final markets.

- Provides strong support and advise on Operation scheduling, acting as the main focal point between Commercial Optimization and the Refinery/Producing Asset (SR/AP/ LPIC/MAF) on plant Scheduling.
- Ensure safe operations involving Plan Scheduling end to end process.
- Leading the direct communications with the assets production units for Plant scheduling activities purposes and provides efficient feedback.
- Ensure that any changes to Production Schedule, is in agreement with Commercial Optimization, and is delivered as expected,
- Ensure that the monthly Production Schedule in the assigned plant (s) (AP/PTA/LPIC/MAF/SALALAH) is fully optimized on weekly/daily basis, and based on maximizing the plant/unit availability and flexibility, in line with the commercial opportunities,
- Maintaining and developing updates on APS scheduling tool to reflect actual asset operational capability against an agreed rolling plan;
- Lead and deliver the actions required and agreed to capture Optimization GM in M, always ensuring the safe operation of the plant.
- Timely implementation of deviation from the plan, cascaded from the Commercial Optimizer in order to capture value
- Propose new projects which add-value by improving plant and logistics and flexibility.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders on complex plant scheduling challenges, optimization strategies, and long-term planning to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

APS Tool
|
- Ensure the maintenance of inputs to APS & effective usage of APS for scheduling.
- Act as Senior Matter expert for Plant Scheduling matters and interface with all related stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
- Ensure the maintenance of inputs to APS & effective usage of APS for scheduling.
- Coach Plant Scheduling team and young professionals on Supply Chain matters.

Operations
|
- Challenge the production plan, specifically on availability, capacity and unit rates (i.e. overall capability of assets) and recommend a realistic monthly plan for approval to Commercial Optimization.
- Coordinate day-to-day communication with the Refineries and Producing Assets and is fully aware of any planned/unplanned maintenance and/or any other factors will impact commercial delivery.
- Creates the operational production schedule (for unit load with planned quality and quantity) that is rolled out on monthly, weekly and daily basis.
- Communicate the Production Schedules and any changes to Commercial Optimization and to key stakeholders.
- Monitor the execution of the operational production schedule and share any deviations on the schedule with the Commercial Optimizer.
- Monitor technical performance of the asset, proactively assess the capability during the month and communicate risks to stakeholders and evaluate best opportunities with event of unplanned shutdowns.
- Monitor and report hydrocarbon intermediate tank inventory levels.
- Ensure sufficient ullage and timely draw down from intermediate tanks, for smooth running of plants and communicate to stakeholders.
- Prepare and update relevant controls of the process execution including breakdown cost, progress measurement, claims, change orders, and reporting procedure.
- Evaluate the resource plan and progress measurement system established and participate in monthly evaluation exercise / variance analysis.
Participate in the change management process and trends analysis.
- Highlight potential problems with recommendations for remedial action and ensure changes have been incorporated in the plan/schedule.
- Develop detailed schedules in conjunction with TL.
- Develop engineering progress measurement systems, and report progress and productivity.

- Expert: 10 + years of relevant experience
- Snr Specialist: 8 + years of relevant experience
- Extensive / strong experience in Refining or Oil Trading experience essential
- Extensive working experience in Supply Chain Management
- Strong experience in scheduling system, planning and scheduling standards and procedures involving interfaces with all downstream areas
- Strong experience providing a complete planning service and demonstrating expertise in managing large, complex production with a global reach.
- Working knowledge of APS and PIMS model.
- Proficient user of Primavera P6 and spreadsheets, with database capability.
- Clear understanding of marketing business’s regulations.
- Able to develop branding and value propositions for the products
- Good understanding of polymer market Industry, oil and gas / chemicals industry
- Strong experience with product portfolio management
- Can develop accurate short-term market forecasts for key markets
- Experience Price Forecasts / Volume Availability with grades / Logistic costs / Legal support for key markets
