Job purpose
Provide solutions in environmental projects while executing and maintain the Environmental Management Plan across OQ RPI assets (in line with the HSSE function, its practices & principles), under Head of Environment scope, acting as team player for environmental engineering standards and front desk for environment sustainability matters; through (1) Implementing and monitoring compliances with environmental policies based on national, regional and international regulations, (2) Carrying out the daily environmental protection activities such as air quality, waste management, water, noise, etc., (3) Providing appropriate and timely environmental engineering expertise to support OQ RPI projects, operations, maintenance, etc. (4) Coordinating the environmental permitting processes,(5) Working as interface between Company and Lender's environmental consultants; in order to comply with International Finance Corporation Standards (IFC), (6) Providing OQ RPI stakeholders with healthy, safe, secure, and environmentally friendly services; in order to ensure the proper manufacture and quality of products & comply with local and international environmental regulations as well as those set by the organization and lenders, while ensuring compliance and implement those programs and zero harm to people, assets and environment.
The position will act in accordance with the OQ RPI Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSSE standards, Oman’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |

Key interactions Internal: Liaise with the colleagues and stakeholders for day-to-day work including Department heads, Maintenance, Operations, Technical Services, Engineering, and Shift staff External: Acts as liaison between Government offices, External regulators, lender’s Environmental consultants, Neighboring industries, Universities and research organization, Industry bodies, Ministers, and political decision-makers |

Education requirements |
Bachelor's Degree in Environment Engineering, or Chemical & Process Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Environment, chemistry, or equivalent.

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) |

· 5-8 years relevant experience in a similar role within the Oil and Gas industry preferably in Refinery, Petrochemical, and Petroleum processes. · Detailed understanding of general industry standards including deep knowledge of basic environmental aspects. · Fundamentals of HSSE- Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety & Fire. · Advanced experience, and deeper understanding and expertise in specific areas of environmental engineering. · Specialized knowledge in fields such as air quality management, water resource planning, environmental impact assessment, or sustainable development.
