Job purpose
Execute and operate the operations and maintenance activities assigned within the designated area under the authority of the Supervisor Operations. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of facilities, providing technical operational support and analysis while maintaining operating expenditures. Responsible for maximizing plant operational efficiency, reliability, and safety to meet the requirements and needs of respective business stakeholders.
The position will act as the organization’s mission, vision, values, policies, and guidelines, supported by an IT technology platform, HSSE standards, Oman government and other legal justifications and best international practices aligned with national objectives.

Mandate QHSSE Obligations
- Ensure compliance with the HSSE Management System.
- Monitor and report safety performance and compliance.
- Guide, advise, communicate, and enforce safe behavioural practices (Life Saving Rules, Process Safety Rules) to perform tasks safely.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure continuity of operations by addressing issues promptly and taking necessary actions.
- Conduct detailed routine inspections of all rotating and static equipment to ensure proper functioning both individually and in synchronization with other equipment.
- Make operational adjustments to valves and switches controlling fluid/gas flow rates, levels, pressure, temperature, and chemicals, and contribute to troubleshooting process upsets and abnormalities.
- Regularly record field data by reading gauges and instruments on plant equipment, and log significant deviations from standard operating conditions.
- Facilitate shutdowns and start-ups for turnarounds, maintenance, and inspections in adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP& EOP).
- Provide support during emergencies as per SOPs and instructions from the Shift Team Leader/Operation Supervisor and Panel Operator, and ensure a safe working environment by isolating, depressurizing, and draining equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) conditions, follow up on the progress and completion of maintenance work, and perform minor maintenance tasks such as greasing and bolt tightening.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and basic equipment care in assigned areas and provide insights on key variances and trends to the Operation Supervisor for significant items and actions.
- Collaborate effectively to achieve function objectives, performance metrics, quality measures, and budget targets, and foster business continuity and growth through quality improvement initiatives.
- Draft correspondence and documentation on behalf of the Operation Supervisor, maintain and update key contact databases, and enhance relations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish, implement and supervise all maintenance activities at GSSs, PLSs, Compressor stations, BVSs and Pipelines.
- Operate the facilities safely and efficiently to ensure 100% availability.
- Direct and supervise day-to-day operation activities in gas supply stations, and compressor stations ensuring all mandatory checks are performed, consumables are adequately stocked, and liquids are topped up.
- Ensure all mandatory daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports and readings are submitted and logged in time
- Ensure all mandatory FLM checks are completed as per frequency.
- Ensure that all GTF-related static and rotating equipment is operated and maintained as per the vendor’s recommendations
- Attend callouts as required.
- Prepare and carry out any isolation, de-isolation, venting, purging, commissioning, and mothballing of pipelines and other GTF facilities as required.
- Ensure public safety and gas deliverability by maintaining the functionality and integrity of the facilities.
- Ensure operations activities at the facilities are performed by established Company Quality procedures, HSSE Codes and standards and recognized industry standards
- Ensure required work on all GTF facilities is completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner and by all required codes, practices, standards and procedures.
- Examine all Permits to Work for all work carried out by either OQGN, contractor and/or any sub-contractor within GTF facilities for approval of Operation Supervisor.
- Ensure that the PTW system is followed, and all safety regulations are adhered to.
- Ensure all necessary forms and documentation are completed and approved as required before, during and after operation activities.
- Ensure that records systems, engineering drawings and operations databases are kept updated.
- Constantly review terminals, stations and pipelines for improvements in operability, reliability, safety and integrity and provide written feedback to the Operation Supervisor.
- Communicate with the Operation Supervisor regularly regarding planned and unplanned work at all stations.
- Ensure all necessary tools and test equipment are available and operational.
- Assist in resolving any terminal and station operations issues
- Provide leadership, mentoring and training to operators.
- Commissioning of new facilities as required from time to time by established standards and procedures.
- Provide immediate reporting to the Operation Supervisor regarding any HSSE incident, accident, and non-conformances involving company staff, sub-contractor staff and/or any company facilities and equipment.
- Implement all Quality and HSSE requirements coming under your area of authority
- Conduct regular inspections of all GSS, PLS, BVS and Compressor stations and prepare reports by established inspection cycles and procedures.

Diploma Degree or equivalent.

Experience and background

- From 3 to 5 years of experience in operations and maintenance preferably in the oil and gas sectors.
