Job purpose

Lead and manage the team for the development and execution of Communication & Branding  at OQBI, under Head of CIC scope, for Communication and Brand standards, related tasks, foundation / initiatives, acting as single point of accountability for the development of  Communication and brand strategy (Brand, Corporate Communications (Internal and External), corporate relations, value parenting, change and wellbeing); in order to support PT to ensure the continuity and efficiency of the business.

This role is guided in accordance with the OQBI Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategies, as well as policies, guidelines, and both local & international standards. It is supported by an IT Technology platform, HSSE standards, Omani government regulations, legal justifications, and best international practices. All these elements are aligned with the national objectives of Oman.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Communications:

  • Development of a long-term Corporate Communications to position OQBI Image, in line with OQBI’s vision, mission, & values
  • Oversees the day-to-day implementation development of the strategy and operational communication plans, along with their implementation by building, improving and maintaining internal and external communications with stakeholders and emergency response,
  • Communicating key messages to defined target audiences to establish goodwill and understanding between the industry
  • Building understanding and functions and its members, as well as influencing positive opinion and behavior from potential respondents and stakeholders,
  • Generating positive & effective media coverage and relations with broadcast, print and new media,
  • Leading organizational changes related to people by instigating ways of improving their engagement, sense of belonging, and obtaining their buy-in by managing any resistance in an effective manner.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all media operations, PR & media relations, thought leadership programs, digital media, advertisements & campaigns, media buying.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all OQBI events, development of SOWs, requirements, contracts, vendors, budgets, executions and monitoring.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all creatives, photography & videography, events creatives, website and social media creatives.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all digital-related services, mobile apps, websites, social media management, agency & vendor management as well as content & publications.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all content related matters, publications, announcements, mailers etc.

Brand

  • Develop, guard and own OQBI Brand, Culture and Wellbeing strategy
  • Monitor and review OQBI Brand strategy in areas of Brand, Culture, Corporate Communications (Internal and External), corporate relations, value parenting, change and wellbeing)
  • Manage Brand value, equity, loyalty and pride locally and internationally
  • Develop and review marketing intelligence, brand initiatives and its related interdependencies
  • Monitor, track, measure and report the performance in areas of Brand, Culture and Wellbeing
  • Conduct brand, culture and well-being regular performance review and audit
  • Develop related department’s performance reviews, reports and projects
  • Manage OQBI brand initiatives and programmes and seek for value addition brand opportunities

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.

Education requirements

Minimum Qualifications for this position is a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR or related disciplines.

Language

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) Arabic or Native (desirable)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

  • Minimum 12+ years’ experience in similar role, in a large oil industry industrial organisation.
  • International experience 
  • Solid brand and communication experiences, market research, policy making and other related strategic areas
