Job purpose

Accountable for driving the Technology agenda, Integrated Digital Solutions, Cybersecurity, and Innovation, ensuring full alignment with corporate strategies, objectives, programs and organizational growth. This role drives both short- and long-term goals to achieve operational efficiency, business continuity, and sustainable success under the authority of the Chief PT&C Officer.

Oversees the organization’s IDS strategy and operating model, including ERP systems, digital transformation initiatives, and strategic IT sourcing, to establish and maintain a cohesive digital ecosystem and capabilities.

Responsible for all aspects of cybersecurity governance, standards, and solutions. Provides vision and leadership to safeguard critical assets, data, and systems against threats, ensuring robust cybersecurity assurance.

Leading the development and implementation of innovative technology strategies, fostering the adoption of emerging technologies and practices that enhance departmental efficiency and reliability. Accountable for providing strategic guidance across entire organization, driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.

 

The position will act by OQGN’s mission, vision, values, policies, and guidelines, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Oman government and other legal justifications and best international practices aligned with National objectives.

Holding this role, you will be acting as the ambassador associate to your Team members, leading initiatives, promoting behaviours, making decisions that align with our OQGN cultural principles, and ensuring their growth and their valuable contributions towards our organization’s long-term success.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Technology Leadership: Shape and execute enterprise-wide technology vision and strategies aligned with corporate objectives and national priorities.
  • Digital Transformation: Drive Integrated Digital Solutions (IDS), champion large-scale digital transformation, AI adoption, and emerging technologies to build a secure, integrated digital ecosystem.
  • Cybersecurity Governance: Ensure robust cybersecurity standards, governance, and resilience to protect critical assets and data, and ensure business continuity.
  • Innovation Management: Define innovation strategies aligned with business objectives by fostering a culture of creativity, leveraging collaboration, and market insights. Manage the end-to-end ideas pipeline—from concept to embedment—while measuring impact.
  • Compliance & Standards: Operate in accordance with OQGN’s mission, vision, values, HSE standards, Omani regulations, and international best practices.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Vendor and Resource Management: Manage vendor relationships, establish strategic partnerships, negotiate contracts, and optimize acquisition of technology resources and services.
  • Cost Leadership: Develop and manage the technology budget, allocate resources effectively, and ensure alignment with corporate financial objectives to maximize return on investment.

Working Conditions

Primarily office-based, occasional travel, and sporadic visits to the operation site.

Education Requirements

Master’s or bachelor’s degree in technology management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or a related field.

Language

Preferable English and Arabic.

Experience and Background

  • Minimum 14+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, including at least 5 years in a senior/executive position.
  • Leads enterprisewide digital transformation and cybersecurity posture, converting OPEX/CAPEX decisions and strategic business plans into an agile technology ecosystem that safeguards assets, enables continuity, and advances organizational objectives
  • Proven ability to design and strategically drive enterprise-wide cybersecurity governance and risk strategies, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance frameworks and organizational objectives.

  • Technical engineering terminology in English & and Arabic languages.

  • In-depth understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, compliance standards, resilience frameworks and disaster recovery planning.
  • Expertise in business planning, development, and process analysis, including risk and incident analysis, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in cybersecurity technologies and infrastructure security administration, including network, endpoint, cloud security, and threat intelligence.
  • Strong knowledge of digital transformation, emerging technologies, and business continuity principles, with the ability to align IT strategies to organizational objectives.
  • Skilled in negotiating contracts, managing vendors, and building strategic technology partnerships.
  • Skilled in HSE principles, financial management, budgeting, and reporting to ensure compliance and effective resource allocation.
