Job purpose
Lead and govern OQ8 digitalization initiatives by identifying, prioritizing and delivering fit-for-purpose digital solutions that simplify and standardize business processes, improve data visibility and decision making, and enhance user experience. The role is accountable for translating business requirements into scalable digital products/automation (e.g., low-code, workflow, integrations, RPA and analytics), ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, vendor management, solution quality, cyber/IT compliance, and benefits realization across Muscat and Duqm operations.
The position will act in accordance with OQ8’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Own and be accountable for end-to-end digitalization and digital application activities, ensuring delivery performance meets agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality, service KPIs/SLAs/OLAs and business value outcomes across Muscat and Duqm operations
- Define, maintain and govern the digitalization roadmap, demand intake, prioritization pipeline, digital/data strategy and multi-year business, application, integration and data roadmaps, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, architecture standards, data governance, value drivers and measurable benefits realization.
- Lead the digital vision, digital agenda and organizational change program by working with stakeholders across all functions and business lines to identify opportunities, quick wins, value hunting initiatives, disruptive technologies, capability-building needs, communications, adoption measurement and ownership for successful delivery.
- Develop, manage and report on the digital project/product portfolio, including initiative scoping, charters, business cases, KPIs/benefits, timelines, resourcing, dependencies, portfolio performance, executive/steering reporting and ROI/value realization across business units.
- Translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose digital initiatives and products, ensuring process, data, solution, integration, support, change and user experience requirements are addressed consistently and aligned with ERP and related corporate platforms.
- Plan, coordinate and lead digital delivery using agile and/or waterfall methods, covering discovery, process mapping/redesign, service design/UX input where applicable, prototyping, configuration/development, testing, UAT, sign-offs, cutover, hypercare and transition to support/operations.
- Define and implement standards, procedures, guidelines and process maps for digitalization delivery and run, including requirements, design, coding/configuration, testing, release, change control, documentation, support model and information management practices.
- Evaluate, select and implement appropriate technologies for multi-location initiatives, including workflow/BPM, low-code platforms such as Power Platform, RPA, forms/portals, integrations/APIs, data/BI dashboards, mobility and omni-channel web/mobile solutions, and PoV pilots for emerging technologies where applicable.
- Establish and manage the digital ecosystem through local and global partnerships, including vendor/partner selection, scope of work definition, deliverable review and acceptance, performance monitoring, contract compliance, invoicing support, service reviews, improvement plans, knowledge transfer and documentation updates.
- Ensure solution quality, operational readiness and compliance by embedding architecture alignment, secure-by-design practices, cyber security, data privacy, information management, Microsoft 365/Azure enterprise controls, testing discipline, UAT participation, risk assessments, remediation actions and required go-live/closure approvals.
- Oversee access governance and data governance for solutions within scope by validating access requests, ensuring role-based access aligns with job responsibilities, preventing excessive or unauthorized privileges, defining data ownership, improving data quality, aligning master/reference data and standardizing reporting definitions/KPIs.
- Ensure stable operation and lifecycle management of delivered digital solutions by coordinating incident/problem follow-up through Service Desk/ITIL processes, major incident escalation, root-cause elimination, enhancement backlog management, application inventory/rationalization, version/patch planning, obsolescence, retirement and technical debt management.
- Coordinate change enablement, release management and operational resilience by aligning CAB/approvals, release windows, communications, back-out plans, BCP/DR requirements where applicable, backup/restore expectations and support readiness to reduce production risk and service disruption.
- Drive adoption and continual improvement through communications, training, awareness sessions, SOPs/user guides, super-user enablement, usage analytics, user feedback, document lifecycle controls, metadata/classification, access controls and audit trail practices.
- Maintain a repository of digital knowledge, including technology trends, standards, patterns, reusable components and lessons learned, and recommend feasible improvements and innovations relevant to OQ8

- 10 years of relevant experience in digitalization / digital transformation / IT delivery or relevant field.
- Process mapping and redesign (Lean/continuous improvement), requirements management and stakeholder facilitation.
- Digital solution delivery (agile/waterfall), product ownership, backlog management and release planning.
Automation and workflow tools (RPA, low-code platforms, BPM/workflow, forms/portals) Data and analytics (data quality, reporting/visualization, KPI design, dashboards) Systems integration (APIs, interfaces), identity/access considerations, and operational support/hypercare Vendor/outsourced delivery management and business case / benefits tracking Experience in oil & gas / refinery / industrial operations environment (preferred).

- Data & reporting: KPI definition, dashboarding/visualization, and basic data quality and governance practices
- Integration & controls awareness: APIs/interfaces concepts, role-based access, information management, cyber security and change management basics
- Product/project delivery tooling: proficiency with collaboration and planning tools (e.g., MS Office, Teams/SharePoint) and structured status reporting
