Job purpose
Execute Engineering upstream Electrical activities, acting as owner of engineering Electrical standards, through (1) Execute the engineering Electrical services to define and specify the technical requirements and specifications as part of OQEP requirements, (2) Ensure the engineering deliverables generated by Contractor meet project requirement in term of technical content and follow project procedures such as engineering plan, quality plan, document numbering, level of approval, Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by contractors; in order to ensure goals, objectives and all elements of the project are accomplished within budget, time and quality
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- Execute the Electrical Engineering technical detailed design scope and endeavor to bring out the best strategies and approaches to deliver the technical requirements.
- Prepare the necessary documentation, establishing major methods and data as necessary and ensure the selection of the optimum Electrical design from both technical and economic standpoints.
- Ensure that design method, standards and data used conform to Asset Owners requirements and/or those issued by Centre of Excellence.
- Ensure the preparation of the Electrical Analysis Philosophy document incorporating user requirements.
- In consultation with Project Delivery Skill-pool, utilize appropriate Electrical engineering resources and monitor performance to ensure all Electrical Engineering deliverables are accomplished.
- Be responsible for the coordination, execution, and progress of Electrical Engineering design under the supervision of the Lead Engineering.
- Be responsible for the accuracy of Electrical layouts, standards and isometrics
- Be responsible for analysis of all Electrical system as per company procedures and/or approved international practices
- Be responsible for technical accuracy, quality, and economy of Electrical engineering applications design.
- Liaise with Vendor’s representatives and other functions on all matters relating to Control & Automation design and execution.
- Ensure OQ Safety and Quality control procedures are followed during the execution of all work and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all design work.
- Participate pre and post contract award in discussions with Asset Owners to assess and assist in the definition of user requirements.
- Review Electrical Engineering Deliverables and participate in project reviews and workshops.
- Participate in solving Electrical engineering challenges that are recognized during the development of the Front-End Package or detailed engineering
- Identify gaps in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new practices or toolkit items that enhance OQ technological offerings.
- Conduct or supervise site inspection for accuracy of Electrical and equipment including mechanical walk-downs

Bachelor of Engineering

Language requirements

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills
|
- + 8 years’ relevant experience as a minimum
- Knowledge in electrical operation, maintenance, construction, testing, commissioning etc.
- Experience in Oil & Gas Upstream and downstream, refineries, and petrochemical plants
- Adaptable and motivated general management strategist who relishes challenges.

- Strong management & leadership skills & should be able to work collaboratively with all involved.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural sensitivity.
- Computer literate with expertise in MS Office.
- Experienced in resource control, contract management and general management.
- Working experience in power system study software e.g. ETAP, DigSilent, equivalent, and other electrical design tools and software.
- Working experience in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering of oil & gas projects.
- Conversant with electrical design codes & standards, International standards e.g. IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEMA, API etc.
