JOB PURPOSE:

Provide focused legal support to OTTCO’s corporate and compliance activities, ensuring accurate execution of legal processes, regulatory compliance, and alignment with governance requirements. Operating under the guidance of the Manager – Legal Corporate & Compliance, the role supports the preparation and review of corporate documentation, statutory filings, legal registers, and internal policy updates. Acts as a key legal support resource for corporate functions and contributes to maintaining legal integrity across the company’s governance and compliance obligations.

The position will act in accordance with the OTTCO’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support the preparation and review of corporate documentation including board and shareholder resolutions, powers of attorney, and company secretarial records.
  • Maintain legal registers, corporate records, and statutory documentation for OTTCO entities and branches.
  • Assist in coordinating board and committee meetings by ensuring timely legal input and documentation compliance.
  • Support the execution of statutory filings and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor updates to applicable corporate laws and regulations and highlight potential impacts on OTTCO’s governance obligations.
  • Liaise with government bodies, notaries, and external legal counsel for corporate compliance matters, under supervision.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and administrating a range of legal agreements and commercial contracts, including vendor, contractor, consultancy, and joint venturerelated agreements, under supervision.
  • Support contract lifecycle management activities, including document control, execution followup, amendments, renewals, and recordkeeping.
  • Support claims, disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters through document review and coordination with external legal counsel, under supervision.

Assist with legal and governance support for Joint Ventures, including JV documentation and ongoing compliance requirements.

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating legal and compliance policies, procedures, and templates.
  • Support the roll-out and awareness of governance and compliance standards across business functions.
  • Ensure alignment of local practices with group-wide legal frameworks and corporate policies.
  • Contributes to the identification and documentation of legal risks within the corporate and compliance scope.
  • Assist in preparing legal reports and dashboards related to governance, compliance status, or audit readiness.
  • Support legal input to internal audits, investigations, and compliance reviews as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Strategy, HR, and External Affairs) to support legal and governance requirements.
  • Act as a support contact for routine legal and compliance inquiries from corporate and control functions.
  • Facilitate communication with external legal advisors or regulators as instructed.
  • Maintain organized legal records, templates, and document archives in compliance with internal standards.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge tools and checklists that support corporate legal processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all legal actions and filings.
  • Perform any additional legal tasks or assignments as directed by the Manager – Legal Corporate & Compliance or Legal Leadership, in line with business and regulatory needs.

Notable Working Conditions: Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor in degree in law, Master or any other qualification is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken, is essential.
