Job purpose
Provides support on technical development for MEAF region and domestic for OQM products, under Head of Application Market Dev & Technical Service scope, acting as team player Specialist for driving the success of polymer products within the global market by leveraging technical expertise, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and market needs trough: (1) Executing visits / support and services to customers/industries during product trials, and (2) Provide technical information, documentation, resolution of technical complains; in order to ensure the successful development, positioning, and support of polymer products within the global.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Accountabilities:
|
Product Development
|
- Lead and contribute to the technical development of polymer products, working closely with R&D teams to innovate and enhance product offerings.
- This involves conducting research, designing experiments, and testing new formulations or technologies to improve product performance and meet customer needs.
|

Technical Support
|
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams, customers, and stakeholders regarding polymer products.
- Address technical inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and offer solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and product success in the market.
|
|
Market Research and Analysis
|
- Stay informed about market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities related to polymer products.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and strategic positioning.

|
Product Positioning and Messaging
|
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop product positioning strategies and messaging that effectively communicate the value proposition of polymer products to target audiences.
- Ensure alignment between technical capabilities and marketing messaging to drive product adoption and sales.

Training and Education
|
- Develop training materials and conduct technical training sessions for sales teams, distributors, and customers to enhance product knowledge and support effective selling efforts.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to internal and external stakeholders as needed.

Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
|
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure that polymer products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements in relevant markets.
- Participate in regulatory compliance efforts, including product testing, documentation, and certification processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
|
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, sales, operations, and quality assurance, to support product development initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Communicate technical requirements, project updates, and resource needs to stakeholders as appropriate.

Continuous Improvement
|
- Identify opportunities for product improvement, cost optimization, and process efficiency within the technical development process.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to drive innovation and enhance product competitiveness in the market.

Project Management
|
- Manage technical development projects for polymer products, including setting project timelines, coordinating activities, and tracking progress against milestones.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.

Customer Engagement and Feedback
|
- Engage with customers to gather feedback on polymer products, understand their needs and preferences, and identify opportunities for product enhancement or new product development.
- Use customer insights to inform product roadmap decisions and prioritize development efforts.

Education requirements
|
Bachelor’s degree in engineering / chemistry, or related.
|
|
Language requirements
|
English fluent is minimum requirement, local language depending on position location
|
|
Background and experience
|
Competencies and skills
|
- 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Working experience in the chemicals industry or industries operating downstream
- Experience in R&D, technical marketing or application development would be beneficial.
- Strong experience in in Polymer industry, preferably Polyethylene and Polypropylene.
