Job purpose
Execute and operate the mechanical maintenance operations activities assigned within the designated area under the authority of the Supervisor Mechanical. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of facilities, providing technical operational support and analysis while maintaining the mechanical operations expenditures. Responsible for maximizing plant operational efficiency, reliability, and safety to meet the requirements and needs of respective business stakeholders.
The position will act as the organization’s mission, vision, values, policies, and guidelines, supported by an IT technology platform, HSE standards, Oman government and other legal justifications and best international practices aligned with national objectives

- Monitor and report safety performance and compliance.
- Guide, advise, communicate, and enforce safe behavioural practices (Life Saving Rules, Process Safety Rules) to perform tasks safely.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- Manage task distribution within the team for planned, and unplanned, shutdowns, and turnarounds involving pipeline and static equipment, including tanks, vessels, and valves, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Provide commissioning support for major and minor projects and develop and review repair procedures and checklists for static equipment according to technical standards.
- Maintain and update all mechanical drawings to reflect modifications, ensure safety-critical elements are reported as per standards, and oversee mechanical equipment maintenance, including control valves and pumps.
- Coordinate closely with Operations and central maintenance teams for routine and troubleshooting tasks and lead the team in executing refinery maintenance plans for static equipment.
- Attend internal meetings to resolve issues related to static maintenance, conduct engineering studies for troubleshooting, and provide input for maintenance contracts and administration.
- Implement and execute the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan, participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and Design Reviews, and manage material and spare part withdrawals in SAP.
- Oversee the execution of planned maintenance activities, coordinate master data and maintenance plans in SAP, and conduct toolbox meetings and risk assessments to establish work scope and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with the reliability team and manage the maintenance and upkeep of all rotary equipment in the assigned area to ensure maximum reliability and availability.
- Attend internal meetings with Operations, TSD, Planning, and other departments to discuss, resolve issues, prioritize work, and provide input for maintenance contracts, technical evaluations, and procurement plans.
- Oversee the execution of planned maintenance activities, ensure that maintenance history and reports are updated in SAP, and ensure that all activities are completed according to best practices and schedules.
- Identify critical issues and repetitive failures, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), implement recommendations, and manage work backlogs.
- Attend daily meetings and coordinate with Operations, TSD, Planning, HSE, and other departments to ensure effective maintenance and continuous improvement, including analyzing reliability reports and recommending changes to site-wide strategies.
- Implement and approve maintenance processes, ensuring the detection and mitigation of risks, and support the maintenance team in managing critical issues, bad actors, and work backlogs.
- Review and approve maintenance procedures, support maintenance contracts and shutdowns, and lead the implementation of advanced machinery learning techniques to predict equipment performance and enhance reliability.

Education requirements
Diploma Degree or equivalent.

Language
Preferable English and Arabic

Experience and background
From 3 to 5 years of experience in operations and maintenance preferably in the oil and gas sectors.
