Job purpose

Responsible for managing the Maintenance Planning & Performance department within the Gas Network, reporting to the Head of Technical Services. Key responsibilities include ownership of central maintenance planning, maintenance contracts, and sustainable CAPEX. Led the enhancement of planning and scheduling practices to improve efficiency and execution. Evaluate and monitor the performance of the maintenance contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives and continuity. Oversee and report sustainable CAPEX projects, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline.

 

The position will act following the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Mandate QHSSE Obligations

  • Implement framework and systems, set and monitor Objectives and KPI to support HSE Vision.
  • Be the HSE role model, implement Reward and Recognition and Consequence Management consistently to promote behavioural culture in support of the HSE Vision.
  • Coach, mentor, communicate, and get feedback from stakeholders on achievements and limitations of HSE Objectives and KPI.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Accountable for integrated maintenance and shutdown planning to ensure quality, reliability, and availability of Gas Network assets.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of planning & scheduling procedures, ensuring efficient use of internal and external resources.
  • Manage long-term and short-term Integrated Activity Planning (IAP) in coordination with stakeholders, including suppliers and third-party services.
  • Oversee Major Maintenance Service Contractor performance, ensuring contract compliance and operational alignment.
  • Monitor and evaluate all operational contracts, ensuring delivery against performance KPIs and business objectives.
  • Drive alignment between planning strategy and operations through regular engagement with leadership teams.
  • Lead SAP Plant Maintenance enhancements and ensure system utilization for effective work management.
  • Conduct technical audits to assess compliance in planning, execution, SAP use, budget adherence, and contractor performance.
  • Ensure effective planning, monitoring, and cost control across all maintenance and CAPEX activities.
  • Responsible for team competency development, including structured training programs and mentoring of junior planning engineers.
  • Lead performance appraisals and team development initiatives to support business continuity and excellence.
  • Track and report the progress of sustainable operation projects through all lifecycle phases.
  • Prepare and deliver planning and performance reports based on defined KPIs

Working Conditions

Primarily office-based, occasional travel, and sporadic visits to the operation site.

Education requirements

Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Language

Preferable English and Arabic

Experience and background

  • From 12 to 14 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Business
  • Familiarity with Primavera, SAP, and computer literate, Monitoring Schedules, preparing Progress Curves, and Monthly Reports
  • Adaptable and motivated general management strategist who relishes challenges. 
  • Experience in Contract Management
  • Experience with Personal Safety Management.in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans
