Job purpose

 

Lead the Compensation & Benefits end-to-end services at OQ8, under Head of Human Resources scope, acting as Owner of its standards, throught (1) Lead the Design and implementation of  Total Reward (Compensation and Benefits), framework, considering business complexities, affordability and geographical realities ensuring OQ8 can attract and retain capable resources and ensure pro-active budgeting and motoring of Employee Related Cost (ERC) through building internal capability and technology, (2) lead the execution of payroll to ensure ure salary process including associated benefits / increments are completed on-time, (3) Lead the administration of People (HR)  benefits for OQ8 Staff,  and , (4) Lead the planning and execution of HR Policies, Procedures and Internal control; in  order to ensure the retention of the human resources and contribute with the maximization of OQ8 plans and its business continuity.

The position will act in accordance with the OQ8’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Oman’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Compensation & Benefits: Lead the execution of reward issues, job evaluations &  grading in order to ensure that the reward structures are competitive in the market place. Recommend the appropriate compensation and benefits strategy and salary structure which enables the organisation to attract, motivate and retain appropriate staff. Ensure the development and implementation of a nationalization policy scheme to attract and retain high calibre national employees
  • Policies, Systems,  Processes  and Procedures: Lead the development and & Implementation of HR Functional policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all areas of HR function so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
  • Payroll:  Lead the execution of payroll end-to-end cycle and associated payments, ensuring the pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Key interactions

Internal: Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders for day-to-day work.

External: Acts as liaison between clients, vendors, and consultants, and main stakeholders.

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment and Filed operations Moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human resource, Administration, or related field

Master or Post-graduate coursework. in a related discipline (preferred)

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

12+ years of relevant experience

  • Oil & Energy experience (greenfield petrochemical plant operations and infrastructure)
  • Experience with various HR functions, including:
    • Compensation & Benefits
    • Policies, Systems,  Processes  and Procedures:
    • Payroll 
    • Employee Relations
  • Detailed-oriented with excellent organizing and planning skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good communication skills & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, motivated, resourceful, and organized to work in a multi-functional role
  • Builds expert knowledge in our organization and conveys knowledge to others
