Job purpose
Leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the BCM system across OQ SAOC and overseeing the group of companies. This role ensures that BCM practices are aligned with OQ’s policy, international standards (e.g., ISO 22301), and regulatory expectations to safeguard critical operations and ensure organizational resilience. The Manager will oversee Business Impact Analyses, continuity planning, testing, and recovery strategies, while driving integration of BCM into corporate risk and crisis management frameworks. In addition, the role serves as the group focal point for guiding, harmonizing, and monitoring BCM maturity across all OQ business lines and subsidiaries, ensuring an effective approach to continuity and resilience.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in accordance with OQ SAOC’s policy, framework and procedures.
- Facilitate the development, approval, and periodic review of business continuity Management program (BCPs, BIAs, etc.),
- Coordinate and lead BCM testing and simulation exercises, including tabletop, functional, and full-scale drills, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into plan improvements.
- Act as the central BCM focal point for all OQ SAOC’s business units, providing guidance, oversight, and capability development to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Monitor and report on BCM compliance and maturity levels, maintaining dashboards and tracking action plans to close identified gaps.
- Report regularly to Oman Investment Authority (OIA) on OQ’s BCM status, compliance level, test results, and readiness, ensuring transparency and accountability at the shareholder level.
- Support integration of BCM with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Crisis Management frameworks, ensuring a cohesive resilience strategy.
- Part of Crisis Command Centre as BCM lead according to the schedule of rotation. Serving under crisis and emergency accordingly.
- Develop and deliver training and awareness programs to embed continuity and crisis readiness across all levels of the organization.
- Stay abreast of emerging threats, industry practices, and regulatory changes related to continuity and resilience, recommending proactive enhancements to the program.
- Act as BCM lead during actual disruptions, coordinating with key stakeholders and incident management teams to support timely and effective response and recovery.
- Oversee the Maturity of the group’s resilience.
- Support the combined assurance direction through integrating with other functions in Assurance.
- Serve as a Centre of Excellence for the group and provide guidance on requested matters.

Notable Working Conditions.
- Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.
- This role may require local and international travel on an ad-hoc basis.

Education requirements
|
- Minimum qualification is a bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Professional certification in BCM and Risk Management (e.g. CBCI, ISO 22301) preferred.

- A minimum of 8-10 years’ relevant experience in a similar role will be preferred.
