Mechanical Engineering Services applicable to MAF Assets:

Statics

Mechanical Statics: Analyzing the equilibrium of forces acting on a stationary object and determining the resulting stresses, strains, and deformation.

Mechanical statics is used to design and analyze structures and machines that are designed to remain in a fixed position, Mechanical stationary equipment (non-moving equipment such as tanks and other vessels:

  • Pressure vessels, (drums, columns, reactors, filters)
  • Heat exchangers (shell and tubes, plate and frame, air coolers).
  • Columns:  used to separate crude oil and other feedstocks into different fractions and are operated under high temperatures and pressures from which is required a careful design to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Storage tanks,
  • Fired Heaters,
  • Pig launchers
  • Furnaces: to heat process streams to high temperatures. To heat crude oil and other feedstocks before they enter the distillation columns.

Flare systems: to safely burn off excess hydrocarbons that cannot be processed or stored and prevent the release of potentially dangerous gases into the atmosphere.
