Job purpose  

The Head Investors Relations and Stakeholders Management is responsible for leading, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders who have a vested interest in the financial health of the organization. Building strong relationships with stakeholders fosters trust, transparency, and collaboration. This ultimately leads to better decision-making, improved financial performance, and increased stakeholder value. 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. 

Main tasks and responsibilities 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Investors Relations and Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Group PR, CFO, CEO and senior Mgt. on group level  
  • Regular external reporting activities:  
  • Continue to develop with the Board, the Company’s key messages and ensure data required by the financial markets are provided in a clear and concise manner on a timely basis, including all regulatory announcements and disclosures 
  •  Work with the external Investor Relations advisory consultancy and internal management to ensure that other corporate press releases of a market sensitive nature are produced on a timely basis and to the requisite ‘world class’ standard 
  •  Designing, copywriting and maintaining the investor relations section of the corporate website; and developing other collateral and presentations, including the annual report and investor packs to support analyst/investor outreach 
  •  Investor targeting/Analyst outreach  
  • Competitor and peer-group analyses; shareholder and bond holder identification  
  • Develop an investor targeting program and manage the annual calendar of IR conferences and other events to provide regular contact with principal bond 
  • and shareholders and key underweight and non-holders - Liaison with external bond- and shareholder identification service providers  
  • Prepare capital markets communications literature and presentations, slide show packs and roadshow materials  
  • Attend key investor/analyst/journalist meetings, where appropriate with CEO and/or CFO and other Executive Directors.  
  • Manage periodic investor days and coordinate ad hoc analyst and investor tours, ensuring supporting materials are prepared as necessary  
  • Maintain regular contact with buy- and sell-side analysts, including responding to ad hoc queries 
  • Ongoing management of IR activities  
  • Prepare an annual investor relations plan and budget for the IR function  
  • Monitor analysts’ forecast on an ongoing basis, comparison with the Company’s own forecasts, and work to guide expectations as appropriate  
  • Monitor share price and valuation of the company  
  • Monitor and review analyst reports on the Company and its peers and highlight any key issues for discussion with Executive Management  
  • Oversee the production of the Annual Report in conjunction with other relevant business verticals  
  • Organize conferences, road shows, earnings conference calls, and investor meetings  
  • Run Debt Capital Market IR program  
  • Run Capital Markets Days  
  • Write the investor relations Board reports to ensure Executive Management are up to date with the IR function and the financial markets’ views and concerns • Other/ad hoc management  
  • Management of IR team  
  • Maintaining a database of all investor/broker contact - Create detailed regular (weekly) reports of sell-side and buy-side interaction to CFO/CEO  
  • Liaise with the company’s retained stockbrokers, investment bankers and financial PR advisors  
  • Manages Rating Agency relationships  
  • Write and coordinate aspects of crisis communications, as and when required, ensuring consistency of message and approach  
  • Liaise with, and represent the Company, in external stakeholder events and programs (Investor conferences, conference calls, roadshows) 

 

 

 

      Reporting  

  • Evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, on key drivers behind the numbers and agree on comments to be incorporated into the reports Contribute to the monthly group reporting. 
  • Improve continuously Business Reporting and Monitoring capabilities, processes, procedures, practices and systems. 
  • Design & implement Group-level reports using contemporary business dashboard/scorecard solutions. 
  • Design and develop Data Base for meeting the reporting requirements of the Management in order to make informed decisions. 
  • Own and maintain reporting calendar.
  • Ensure that reports are delivered on time with agreed content. 

 

 

 

 

 

   Sustainability  

 

  • Provides insight & thought leadership on Sustainability matters (central policies, procedures, tools) at Upstream acting as owner of its standards, framework, and the single point of accountability / “bridge” with Business units / Asset owners and Corporate regarding Sustainability matters by leading end to end processes, while providing sustainability framework, and services to all business Units / leaders on how to implement sustainability strategy,  
  • Lead all R&D efforts on Sustainability matters and Oversees the Sustainability performance of Upstream to support the achievement of its goals and ensure that central policies, procedures, tools, and decisions are made considering the relevant business/functions need.  
  • At Corporate Level, interface with Sustainability agenda of OQ’s group, by presenting the Sustainability frame for Upstream (aligned with OQ Group) and the KPIs for Sustainability results at Upstream (monthly, annual)  
  • Present relevant reports for specific stakeholders, while providing information to corporate functions on Sustainability strategic priorities & plans at Upstream.  
  • Owner of the OQEP Annual Sustainability Report for upstream. 
  • Acts as integrator with OQEP CFO of all sustainability efforts to ensure sustainability agenda is met. 

Key interactions 

Internal: All Finance functions, Budget End Users from all streams (Upstream and Corporate functions) and Leadership Team.  

External: Investors, Lenders, Ministries, local community, etc….  

Notable Working Conditions. Office based, moderate to intensive computer screen use.  

Education requirements 

  • Minimum qualification is a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business & Marketing  

Language 

Excellent in reading, writing, and speaking English Language (Required), Arabic Language is desired.  

Background and experience 

Competencies and skills 

  • 13+ years of relevant experience. 
  • 5+ years in leadership role (managing multiple teams) 
  • Knowledge in constructing financial statements and consolidation of financial statements.  
  • Experience in Project Management/Reporting and Presentations such as  
  • Experience in Performance Management. 
  • Exposure to oil and gas / Energy industry including both downstream and/or upstream 
  • First-hand experience is gained on the challenges, issues and risks that exist throughout the business coupled with exposure to the senior leaders who are managing them. This will allow the incumbent to develop their personal strengths and related business knowledge and provides the professional toolkit to grow into new roles. 
  • Knowledge of internationally recognized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a process plant.  
  • Experience in drafting and improving SOP/ training manuals 
  • Experience of developing and implementing organizational development initiatives   
  • Practical Lean experience in applying process improvements and Lean tools such as value stream mapping; 5S; identifying and eliminating waste. 
  • Basic knowledge of sustainability topics 
  • Ability to evaluate business plans and sustainability indicators
