JOB PURPOSE:

Oman Tank Terminal Company (“OTTCO”) is 100% owned by OQ and has stepped up its ambition to increase its contribution of creating value for Oman by transforming the company from a project company - with the sole objective to develop the Crude Oil storage terminal in Ras Markaz - to the independent liquid bulk storage partner of Oman to support and/or provide storage services with its capabilities in design, own, operate and commercial contracting of (existing) storage infrastructure. For the Commercial department of OTTCO, we are looking for a full time Sr. Business Analyst who needs to support/assist the business development activities and together with the Head of Commercial and BD need to assess the financial and commercial viability of green-/brownfield and M&A projects. The Business Analyst will gather business intelligence by monitoring the liquid storage market and analyzing the competitor landscape

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site, traveling, when possible and needed.

Education requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent

Language

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the identification, assessment, and development of new business opportunities, ensuring strategic alignment with OTTCO’s long-term objectives and growth priorities.
  • Drive comprehensive market and competitor intelligence initiatives, analyzing pricing trends, capacity utilization, and commercial propositions to deliver actionable insights that influence executive-level decisions.
  • Provide expert-level commercial evaluations and strategic recommendations, shaping investment strategies and guiding high-impact business decisions.
  • Develop and execute advanced financial models, risk assessments, and scenario analyses to optimize commercial outcomes and mitigate potential risks.
  • Actively contribute to high-stakes negotiations, ensuring seamless integration of financial, legal, and operational considerations to secure favorable agreements.
  • Design and refine complex commercial proposals, investment cases, and strategic inputs for storage projects, covering commercial heads of terms, service scope, SLAs, tariff mechanisms, and risk allocation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and value creation.
  • Build and maintain bankable project finance models (NPV, IRR, DSCR, debt sizing), integrated with tariff structures, throughput forecasts, OPEX/CAPEX phasing, and sensitivity analyses for risk-based decision-making.
  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in commercial analysis, offering technical leadership and mentoring to junior analysts and cross-functional teams.
  • Establish and maintain a robust, dynamic database of current and potential investment opportunities, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting for strategic planning.
  • Review, draft, and evaluate commercial contracts and reports, providing expert recommendations to maximize value and minimize exposure to risk.
  • Act as a recognized subject matter expert in terminal economics—capacity allocation, tank farm configuration, line-up optimization, berth scheduling, and demurrage dynamics—to maximize asset utilization and margin.
  • Develop pricing strategies and tariff frameworks (reservation, handling, storage, marine services), benchmarking against regional/global peers while ensuring compliance with concession and regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development, Project Directors, and senior leadership to ensure flawless execution of strategic growth initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee the commercial and strategic activities of OTTCO’s subsidiaries and joint ventures, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, governance standards, and performance targets.
  • Monitor subsidiary performance, review business plans, and provide expert guidance on commercial strategies, risk management, and operational integration to maximize group-level value creation.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as Ras Markaz hub development, ensuring commercial readiness and bankability.
  • Prepare executive-level materials (investment memos, board papers, commercial risk registers, and decision logs) with clear synthesis of economics, risks, and strategic fit.

 

  • Familiarization with QHSE Policies, Objectives, procedures and its record maintenance
  • Awareness on Significant environmental aspects, Health and safety hazards, related actual and potential aspects and risks associated with their risk.
  • Awareness on Emergency preparedness and response measures.
  • Awareness on implications of not conforming to the integrated managements system requirements, including not fulfilling the organization’s compliance obligations
