Job purpose
Provides reliable, and cost-effective Electrical Engineering solutions / packages at RPI assets, under TL Engineering Services (TSD) scope, acting as interface between engineering and Electrical Discipline TSD, and exclusive focal point to support to Assets in relevant Electrical equipment related to its assets (including its Pumps, control valves, Compressors, Bulk Handling Equipment, etc.) by: (1) Develop engineering packages / solutions at for MOCs, Projects, resolution of Bad actors, reliability improvement initiative etc. related with Electrical discipline, (2) Execute Tests, and measures specific parameters related with Electrical discipline for Assets, (3) Conduct inspections for Electrical materials before be installed at sites, (4) Implement the continuous improvements philosophy for Electrical equipment / services, tasks, related with Assets, (5) Support the TL and Lead Engineer in implementing key Electrical Engineering initiatives to maximize plant availability, without compromising functional safety, and (6) Liaise with Electrical discipline path TSD team for alignment in related practices and functional processes; in order to ensure that meets the approved Electrical engineering design criteria, applicable code & standards, ODES (OQ Design Engineering Specifications) and complies with strategy, Electrical path Strategy, and whole TSD functional requirements for materials / equipment for a particular project(s) & related specification(s) at RPI.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Electrical Engineering Services applicable to Assets:
Electrical discipline to control the flow of electricity throughout the plants, power essential equipment, and ensure the safety of workers. Ensure the equipment are properly installed, maintained, and repaired to ensure the safety of workers and the reliability of the plant's operation.

Transformers
|
These are used to step-up or step-down the voltage of electricity, depending on the requirements of the equipment being used. They are used in various applications such as to power motors or to provide electrical isolation between different parts of the plant.

Switchgear
|
This is a collection of switches, fuses, and circuit breakers that are used to control the flow of electricity to various parts of the plant. This includes main distribution boards (MDBs), sub-main distribution boards (SMDBs), and motor control centers (MCCs).

Motors
|
Electric motors are used to power pumps, compressors, and other equipment throughout the plant. These are typically AC motors or DC motors, and can be found in various sizes and power ratings depending on the application

Cables and wiring
|
These are used to connect the electrical components throughout the plants. This includes power and control cables, Electrical cables, and communication cables.

Control systems

Accountabilities
|
General
|
- Providing Electrical & Control engineering expertise for Engineering Services stakeholders, including Maintenance, Operations, Process Engineering, Project Delivery, TA team etc., as required in .
- Implement at assets, the operation support strategy for Electrical path / discipline & support the implementation of key initiatives related to assets.
- Providing expertise in Field Electricals, Control System, Fire and Gas, Functional Safety, etc. associated with assets.

Data Collection and testing
|
- Collecting and reviewing engineering documentation for equipment specifications related with Electrical Path at and related system information.
- Creating supporting documentation or collecting information pertinent to assigned project related with Electrical path.

Testing & Specialized Electrical analysis for assets
|
- Developing, Testing and Validating analytics for Rotating equipment including Pumps, Compressors, Bulk Handling Equipment.
- Design, develop, build, test, modify and implement complex systems / processes / procedures related with Electrical path for Assets.
- Analyze problems, investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty, troubleshoots, and collaborate with co-workers to find solutions by initiating / find route cause and proposes solutions / recommend remedies to for implementation.
- Develops specification and prepare datasheets for field Electricals including control valves and all other Electricals, loop drawings, interlock and control narratives, interfacing solutions etc.
- Performs reliability analysis for Electrical and control equipment and support RCM team to review PMs task lists and maintenance strategy.
- Execute the resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical in MAF Electrical issues where the dominant component is Electrical and control equipment.

Inspections

- Conduct or supervise site inspection for accuracy of Electrical and equipment including Electrical walk-downs.
- Provides Electrical expertise in leading incident investigations.

Risks Identification for Assets
|
- Identifying risks and issues related with Electricals at
- Identify gaps in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new practices or toolkit items that enhance technological offerings.
- Provides Electrical expertise to HAZOP sessions and risk assessment processes.
- Provides Electrical expertise to ensure that cyber security risk controls are in place on automation systems and ensure all associated barriers are proactively managed.

- Plan, create, and design, different instructional materials / equipment for assigned particular project(s) at related with Electrical path.
- Provides Electrical expertise to develop Engineering Packages to MoCs and to projects and modifications at .

Stakeholder
|
- Support with Electrical expertise the TSD RPI Electrical Path team, and the RPI Maintenance team, by performing and reviewing assigned Electrical calculations and data analyses and interfacing with integrated team to work collaboratively.
- Proactively interacting with other disciplines to resolve problems and applying advanced engineering solutions, to assist in setting and implementing engineering technical practices, and drive integrated, pragmatic solutions, focused on risk management, operating efficiency, defect elimination and standardization.
- Actively participates in relevant meetings, such as HAZOP, SIL workshops, Design Reviews, etc.
- Provide technical input to the RCA team, engage with RCA teams, actively participates in meetings, and promote healthy technical discussions.
- Provide Electrical technical support to Bad actors’ resolution.
- Coordinating, and reviewing the work of vendors and engineering contractors related with Electrical path for assets.
- Ensure MAF teams’ application of common engineering principles and concepts to own teams' responsibilities,

- Generating reports and writing project proposals related with Electrical path for Assets.
- Presenting design and research to customers.
- Create a failure analysis library to learn from previous results.
- Prepare the necessary documentation, establishing major methods and data as necessary and ensure the selection of the optimum Electrical design from both technical and economic standpoints.
- Developing Mapping control system tag data to analytic inputs/metrics by reviewing P&IDs and Historian Databases

Education requirements
|
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
|
|
Language requirements
|
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic - Native (desirable)

- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Ideal candidate should come from TSD Electrical path team, as Engineer Electrical, with records of supporting several RPI Assets including in reliability principles and Electrical.
- Experience reading/understanding P&IDs and engineering documentation.
- Well versed on the latest International Code & Standards related to Electrical / Electrical Engineering
- Experience in reviewing, executing Engineering Software like STAAD /AutoCAD for Electrical Engineer
- Experience in handling FEED/EPC Contracts
- Experience and well versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.
- Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports.
- Experience handling HSE (Permit to Work – PTW, Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Emergency Response)
- Understanding of Process Plant (P& ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
