Job purpose

Drive and supervise the Security services in the assigned area/assets to assure the protection and risk mitigation in MGP /B8 areas, under Manager  Upstream Security,  acting as delegated authority to record in the system with confidentiality, integrity, availability, and criteria, through (1) Execute and follow up the activities associated with the security program, (2) Identify and assess the potential risks associates with an on-site physical threat, (3) Supporting on the development of Security policies, standards and procedures, and (4) Test and secure the reporting processes; in order to contribute and support that all security measures, standards, and systems in the designated Assets are aligned while supporting on the protection of people and property..

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Prioritize (ordering) preventive and emergency actions on-site to protect people, assets, and the environment  from any potential or actual physical risk 
  • Develop statistics and indicators to assess the security services at the designated area 
  • Collaborate with the integration of security controls throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the security process is governed by organizational policies and practices that are consistently applied,
  • Require that data with similar criticality and sensitivity characteristics are protected consistently regardless of where in the organization it resides,
  • Enforce compliance with the security program in a balanced and consistent manner across the organization,
  • Coordinate information security with physical security and ensure that an effective information security awareness program has been implemented throughout the organization.
  • Assure the proper availability of Security services to protect people and properties,
  • Aid the public and clients on security matters when required

Key interactions

Internal: All department leaders, HSE colleagues, and leaders. 

External: Contractors, External consultants, providers. Government representatives; especially ROP.  

Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education requirements

The minimum qualification required is a Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Security or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent. Preferably an ex-Military or Security professional Officer equivalent.

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required), Arabic - Native (desirable)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • A security Supervisor must have leadership experience as a security guard member, police officer, or military police.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in security are required
  • Strong knowledge in applying risk management techniques
  • Knowledge in incident investigation
  • Knowledge, background, and training, in all security System Administration (access, control, CCTV, etc.), to enable him/her to supervise the team and processes .
