Job purpose
Supervise the execution of maintenance activities on the offshore platform, ensuring mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OQEP's maintenance procedures, schedules, and HSE standards.
The position will act in accordance with the OQEP’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, QHSE & Energy Management System requirements standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities on the offshore platform, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved schedules and procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of maintenance technicians on the offshore platform, ensuring maintenance work orders are completed accurately, on time, and to the required quality standard.
- Conduct routine inspections and field verification of completed maintenance work, ensuring compliance with technical standards, specifications, and HSE requirements.
- Support fault-finding, troubleshooting, and resolution of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues on the offshore platform, escalating complex technical issues to the Team Lead Maintenance as required.
- Coordinate planned shutdowns, turnarounds, and equipment overhauls on the offshore platform, ensuring activities are properly sequenced, resourced, and completed within schedule.
- Oversee the implementation of permit-to-work (PTW) processes, isolations, and risk assessments for all maintenance activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures.
- Monitor and manage the use of maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts on the offshore platform, ensuring availability and proper handling in accordance with OQEP's asset management procedures.
- Review and verify maintenance records, work order documentation, and equipment history logs in the CMMS prepared by maintenance technicians, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support emergency response and breakdown maintenance activities on the offshore platform, coordinating technician resources to minimize disruption to production operations.
- Provide on-the-job guidance, coaching, and technical direction to maintenance technicians, supporting their skill development and ensuring consistent work quality.
- Liaise with Operations, Engineering, and Technical Services on maintenance scheduling, equipment readiness, and coordination of work activities on the offshore platform.
- Ensure full compliance with all offshore safety procedures, including helicopter and marine transport safety protocols, survival training requirements, and platform-specific HSE rules.
- Actively participate in, contribute to, and promote OQEP's occupational health, safety, security, and environment culture.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Notable Working Conditions: Offshore platform environment with rotational shift work, exposure to marine and field operational conditions, mandatory offshore survival and safety training and certification, helicopter and/or marine transport to and from the platform. Also provide onshore MGP Maintenance support

Education requirements
|
Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline. Diploma holders with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
Preferred: Professional certifications in maintenance management or relevant technical discipline; offshore survival certification (BOSIET or equivalent) and vendor-specific equipment training are an advantage.

Competencies and skills
|
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience for Bachelor’s degree holders, or 7 years’ experience for Diploma holders, in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation maintenance within the upstream Oil & Gas industry. Offshore maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or guiding technician-level maintenance work on offshore or remote field installations.
- Sound technical knowledge of offshore platform equipment, systems, and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with permit-to-work (PTW) systems, isolation procedures, and offshore safety standards.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management and reporting.
- Valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET or equivalent) or willingness to obtain certification prior to deployment.
