Job purpose
Provide engineering and operational support for offshore production operations within OQEP's Musandam Cluster, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of offshore platform processes, equipment, and systems in accordance with operating procedures, production targets, and HSE standards.
The position will act in accordance with the OQEP’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, QHSE & Energy Management System requirements standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- Provide engineering and technical support for day-to-day offshore production operations, ensuring processes and equipment are operated safely, efficiently, and within design parameters.
- Monitor offshore production processes and systems, identifying deviations, operational risks, or performance issues and recommending corrective actions to the Team Lead Offshore Operations.
- Support the preparation, review, and implementation of operating procedures, work instructions, and operational philosophies for offshore production facilities.
- Conduct technical analysis of production data, well performance, and process parameters to identify opportunities for production optimization and operational efficiency improvements.
- Support the planning and execution of offshore operational activities including start-ups, shutdowns, well interventions, and routine operational changes.
- Participate in permit-to-work (PTW) processes, risk assessments, and management of change (MOC) activities related to offshore operations.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of operational issues and equipment performance problems on the offshore platform, coordinating with Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical Services as required.
- Preparation of production reports, operational performance dashboards, and KPI tracking for offshore operations.
- Support the integration of new wells, equipment, or process modifications into existing offshore operations, ensuring operational readiness and seamless handover.
- Provide input to incident investigations, root cause analyses, and lessons-learned exercises related to offshore operational events.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and operations personnel on the offshore platform.
- Ensure compliance with all offshore safety procedures, including helicopter and marine transport safety protocols, survival training requirements, and platform-specific HSE rules.
- Actively participate in, contribute to, and promote OQEP's occupational health, safety, security, and environment culture.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Notable Working Conditions: Offshore platform environment with rotational shift work, exposure to marine and field operational conditions, mandatory offshore survival and safety training and certification, helicopter and/or marine transport to and from the platform. Also support the MGP Plant Operations and provide Engineering support

Education requirements
|
Required: Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferred: Postgraduate qualification or professional engineering certifications; offshore survival certification (BOSIET or equivalent), and process safety or operations training are an advantage.

|
- 6+ years of relevant experience in production or process operations within the upstream Oil & Gas industry, with offshore experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of offshore production processes, systems, and equipment.
- Experience supporting start-ups, shutdowns, and routine operational activities on offshore facilities.
- Familiarity with permit-to-work (PTW), risk assessment, and management of change (MOC) processes.
- Experience analyzing production data and identifying operational improvement opportunities.
- Valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET or equivalent) or willingness to obtain certification prior to deployment.
