Job purpose

 

Leading and managing a team of professionals focused on delivering digital solutions and initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Digital Transformation, this role acts as leader and owner of Digital Factory Delivery standards and services including the coordination and execution of projects related to various digital capabilities, including Scrum Master, Data Scientist, Business Unit Liaison, Analyst for Data Visualization, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Automation, by (1) Lead a talented team of digital professionals and leveraging agile methodologies and best practices, (2)  Oversee relationships between Digital Core and Business lines, spurring Digital demand and adoption of new use cases, (3)  Consolidate Digital portfolio and support in coordinating resources for Digital demand and supply, and (4) Provide Digital Value partners necessary guidance and coaching; in order to support the successful delivery of digital projects and initiatives to accelerate digital transformation and innovation, driving business growth and competitive advantage within the organization.

 

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of digital professionals, including Scrum Masters, Data Scientists, Business Unit Liaisons, Analysts for Data Visualization, AI, and Automation.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and performance metrics for the team and monitor progress towards objectives.
  • Guides new teams to adopt Agile, troubleshoots adoption efforts, and guide continuous improvement & provides training on Lean / Agile.

Project Coordination and Execution

  • Consolidate Digital portfolio and support in coordinating resources for Digital demand and supply.
  • Develop and maintain use cases project management standards.
  • Manage and handle change of scope for on-going Digital projects.
  • Handle Digital projects portfolio budget.
  • Ensure compliance of all projects up to the defined project management standards
  • Track and monitor escalated risks and issues arising from programs and projects.
  • Monitor overall Digital use cases catalog implementation.
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of digital projects and initiatives within the Digital Factory Delivery team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, best practices, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Resource Allocation and Optimization

  • Allocate resources effectively to support project delivery, balancing workload, and priorities across the team.
  • Identify resource gaps or bottlenecks and take initiative-taking measures to address them.
  • Optimize resource utilization and capacity planning to maximize team efficiency and productivity.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Oversee relationships between Digital Core and Business lines, spurring Digital demand and adoption of new use cases.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and liaison between the Digital Factory Delivery team and internal stakeholders, including business units, IT, and other functional areas.
  • Facilitate communication, collaboration, and alignment among stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Provide regular updates, progress reports, and insights to stakeholders on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide Digital Value partners necessary guidance and coaching.

 

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Digital Factory Delivery team, seeking opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and deliver value.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and creativity, encouraging team members to explore innovative technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and trends, such as AI, automation, and data analytics, to drive digital innovation and transformation.

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.

Education requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications for this position are a bachelor’s degree in in IT, Information Systems, computer science, Business or Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in computer science or a similar business related subject preferred.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum) is a plus.

Language

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic - Native (desirable)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management and financial analysis.
  • Several years of experience in project management, digital transformation, or related roles, with a focus on delivering digital solutions and initiatives.
  • Working experience in Digital initiatives in Oil & Gas, energy, or utilities field.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Technical: 

 

  • Computer Literacy including M/S Office
  • QA / QC Knowledge.
  • Contract Administration (Development / Review).
  • Very good understanding of projects risk management.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, Scrum, and other project management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with digital technologies and capabilities, including data science, AI, automation, and data visualization.
  • Understanding of full stack platform concepts and technologies.
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Actively embraces new methods and practices that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
