Job purpose
Coordinates and supervise the Electrical Maintenance Works and the designated team for NGLE and all related operations under TL Maintenance (Shift A, B) - Generic (Mechanical, Instrument, Electrical, Planning) scope as, as Technical Service provider of maintenance and execution of minor projects, modifications in accordance with the technical standards to maintain the assets through: (1) Leading the design Maintenance Electrical services on planned / un-planned maintenance works implementing the best practices, (2) Coordination and supervision of assets, products and maintenance work for NGLE , and (3) Implement plans and coordinate Electrical maintenance works; in order to ensure equipment availability, reliability & optimization of cost / resources while facilitating smooth operations of the facilities to meet production targets.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Scope:
|
Extraction Unit NGLE
|
This is the NGL extracted from natural gas from which ethane, propane, n-butane, iso-butane, and pentanes plus are separated by fractionation in a distillation unit.
|
|
Electrical Equipment
|
|
Transformers:
|
to step up or step-down voltage levels for efficient power distribution within the facility and ensure the electrical supply is suitable for various equipment and processes.
|
|
Switchgear:
|
including circuit breakers, switches, and disconnectors used for controlling and protecting electrical circuits. It provides isolation and protection against electrical faults, allowing safe operation and maintenance.
|
|
Motor Control Centers (MCC):
|
for starting and controlling devices that manage the operation of electric motors used in pumps, fans, compressors, and other equipment. MCCs provide control, protection, and monitoring functions.
|
|
Generators:
|
used as backup power sources during electrical grid outages or for emergency situations to ensure critical equipment continues to operate during power interruptions.
|
|
Power Distribution Panels:
|
to distribute electrical power from the main supply to various areas and equipment within the plant including circuit breakers, fuses, and monitoring devices for efficient power distribution.
|
|
UPS & Batteries charger
|
UPS is used for DCS, Computers supply and instrumentations devices in case of outage of GTG and EDG supply. The supply will be available for smooth shutdown and controlling process flow safely.
|
|
Control Systems:
|
Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are used to monitor and control various processes and equipment. They enable operators to manage the refinery operations effectively
|
|
Cathodic protection
|
To protect underground pipelines and tank bottoms from corrosion
|
|
LV & HV Motor
|
Used for pumps, compressors and heat exchanger.
|
|
Lighting Systems:
|
lighting systems to provide safe working conditions and ensure proper visibility in all areas, including processing units, storage areas, and outdoor spaces.
|
|
Accountabilities:
|
HSE and Process Safety
|
- Introduce safety working culture.
- Provides a well-resourced source of expertise and advise in process safety in offshore applications by engaging consistently and transparent with stakeholders where dealings with duty-holders and informing the developments in process safety topics.
- Support the policy of HSE for the control of major accident hazards.
- Participate as part of a multidisciplinary team in safety case assessment, inspection, and investigation.
- Stimulate the research and development for the prevention of major accident hazards.
- Maintain awareness of current developments in process safety

Electrical
|
- Provides technical support and through troubleshooting operational issues.
- Maintains technical expertise in functional areas of process Electrical.
- Implements the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan within his section.
- Prepares procurement plan for his section.
- Reviews policies of warehouse materials/spare parts and determines strategy of their handling and procurement.
- Carries out the technical evaluation of bids and generate the evaluation report.
- Develops IDP of Omanis within the section, prepares training programs and monitors their implementation.
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) committee review meetings.
- Monitors staff attendance, attitude and implements discipline within the section.
- Prepare annual leave plans.
- Accountable for continuous flow of electrical power to the Logistic facility / buildings.
- Accountable for continuous availability of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, motors, drivers, UPS/BC, generation system, communication system.
- Ensure application of best work practices in execution of electrical maintenance jobs.
- Responsible for electrical side of project implementation in the Logistic facilities.
- Responsible for issuing Work Permits on electrical side and implementing Lock Out – Tag Out (LOTO) procedure.
- In emergency drills or emergencies maintains close liaison with On-Scene Commander and Operation Coordinator, for ensuring quick restoration of power.
- Ensure all electrical consumables are available
- Spare parts availability
- Eliminate all bad actor and generate remedy reports.
- Providing technical support and training on-site to technicians.
- Provide support for all delegated activities from the Maintenance TL.
- Site visit to observe the planned works and completion.

Plant Improvement and Modification
|
- Studies and evaluates proposals for plant modification or improvements and provides recommendations on workability at the implementation stage.
- Carry out HAZOP studies for new modifications.
- Conduct Risk assessment, obtain expert advice from concerned departments and ensure implementation of risk assessment results.
- Ensure to replace the equipment before equipment obsolete

Vendor Management
|
- Conduct regular meetings with third party suppliers, including licensors, vendor and affiliated companies and follow up on deliverables.
- Maintains close communication with vendors & suppliers.

Education requirements
|
- Bachelors in electrical engineering
|

Language requirements

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

- Engineer : 5-7 years of experience in relevant position
- Sr. Engineer : 7+ years of experience in relevant position

- Knowledge of reading and interpreting P&ID & PFD
- Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field.
- Proven experience with Personal Safety Management.
- Good knowledge of HSE / SCE equipment & plans.
- HSE (Permit to Work – PTW, Confined Space, Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, HAZOP., Good knowledge Managing Risks and Hazards, Emergency Response
- Knowledge in estimating, budgeting and cost control.
