JOB PURPOSE:

Take job order for maintenance services and overhauls of all Instrumentation & Control equipment and related systems like Compressors, pumps, generators, tanks system and any rotating or static equipment located in the Terminal. In addition, to ensure maintenance activities are carried out as planned within preset time, high quality and as per HSE standards in order to maintain high reliability & availability of Instrument equipment.

The position will act in accordance with OTTCO’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies,

guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all Instrumentation activities role in Tank Terminal Industry & Duqm Petrochemical Terminal.
  • Prepare and signatory for Permit to Work activities within area of responsibility as licensed and advised by Supervisor and perform operations and maintenance activities in accordance with established company Quality Systems and manufacturers' practices and procedures.
  • Ensure the availability of instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, and communication systems in the area, including the best work practices in maintenance.
  • Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test various industrial instruments such as control valves, transmitters, DCS, Fire and Gas Systems, ESD systems, and pressure controls.
  • Preform and control all work related to instrument maintenance and calibration and analyze periodic maintenance reports to improve section efficiency.
  • Maintain all instrumentation drawings in ‘as-built’ condition and ensure any modifications are reflected accurately.
  • Update, maintain detailed records of maintenance, calibration, and repair activities. Document any modifications made to systems and update technical manuals and drawings as necessary.
  • Report any failures of safety-critical elements as per OTTCO standards and oversee the instrumentation side in all assigned locations.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks and guide the subordinate staff on safe working practices.
  • Report daily activity status and work progress to the Instrument Supervisor and assist in planning, coordinating, and controlling instrumentation work activities.
  • Continuously review Instrumentation and Control equipment to identify improvements in operability, reliability, safety, and integrity, and provide written feedback to the Instrument Supervisor.
  • Maintain close communication with the Instrument Supervisor prior to work execution and support them by providing leadership, mentoring, and training to Instrument Technicians.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of Instrument Technicians and any sub-contractors personnel working on the terminal facilities associated with the Instrument & Control facilities.
  • Promptly respond to callouts for any system or equipment failures, ensuring timely resolution of issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Implement the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan, manage work backlogs and maintain the maintenance KPI.
  • Ensure that instrumentation maintenance history and reports are updated in SAP (CMMS), maintenance digitalization and critical issues and repetitive failures by implementing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) recommendations.
  • Provide technical support during plant shutdowns
  • Participate in instrumentation-related projects, including upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Interface with other maintenance/service department staff to coordinate breakdown or routine maintenance work on facilities and plants.
  • Full utilization of the use of SAP software to manage the day-to-day planning and scheduling of maintenance activities, ensuring quality control of the work is done and accomplished successfully.
  • Effective utilization of service laptops and field-related software, including PLC, TGS, and other instrumentation and control systems, to support day-to-day maintenance activities, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system monitoring, ensuring work quality, system integrity, and successful task completion.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure the availability for overhauls and emergency maintenance critical spares, follow up on spare status to support timely and high-quality work execution, and inspect newly purchased materials and spares upon receipt to ensure compliance with required specifications.
  • Ensure all required critical & normal consumables are identified, ordered and stocked at stores.
  • Maintain tools and equipment’s to be fully operational and in good working order.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with QHSE policies, objectives, procedures, and related record-keeping requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of emergency preparedness and response measures, as well as the implications of non-conformance with the Integrated Management System requirements, including failure to meet organizational compliance obligations.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

 

  • Minimum Qualifications for this position is Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic - Native (desirable)
  • 5+ years of experience in Instrumentation and Control Maintenance activities preferably at Oil and Gas Industry
  • Background in Instrumentation maintenance best practices.
