Sr. Condition monitoring Engineer. - OQ8
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Condition Monitoring Engineer to join our refinery's Reliability Team. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and reliability of rotating and static equipment through advanced condition monitoring techniques. The ideal candidate will lead predictive maintenance programs, identify potential failures before they occur, and support root cause analysis of equipment failures across refinery units.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and lead condition monitoring activities across the refinery, including:
Vibration analysis
Infrared thermography
Ultrasound
Lubrication analysis
Motor current signature analysis
Monitor and assess the health of critical rotating equipment such as:
Compressors, pumps, turbines, fans, gearboxes, blowers, and motors
Analyze condition monitoring data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to maintenance and operations teams.
Maintain and enhance the predictive maintenance program aligned with refinery reliability goals.
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and inspection teams to schedule corrective actions during shutdowns or turnarounds.
Investigate equipment failures and support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) processes.
Maintain accurate records of equipment condition data and generate regular reliability reports.
Ensure all condition monitoring equipment and software are calibrated and maintained.
Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians.
Ensure compliance with HSE and process safety standards in all monitoring activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in condition monitoring and reliability engineering, preferably in a refinery or petrochemical facility.
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment typical in refinery operations.
Certification in:
ISO CAT III Vibration Analysis (e.g., Mobius, BINDT)
MLA II
Thermography Level I/II (advantage)
Ultrasound or oil analysis certifications (desirable)
Proficient in CM tools such as SKF, Emerson, GE Bently Nevada, Brüel & Kjær, or PRUFTECHNIK.
Hands-on experience with CMMS such as SAP PM .
Good understanding of API standards (e.g., API 610, API 618, API 671).
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Good safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices.
