Job purpose
Provides support on supervising and coordinating Security activities and tasks at the designated areas to support the operations and protect people and assets from physical threats. Under the scope of TL security acting as delegated authority to eliminate and/or mitigate risks through (1) Execute the actions required to provide onsite surveillance for all assets (2) Identity and monitoring potential and actual risk, implementing the corrective actions to eliminate them and (3) Manage and deploy the resources required to assure proper onsite security services for the assets; to assure that all security measures, standards, and systems at the designated area are aligned while supporting on the protection of people and property, and maintain crowd control.
The position will act in accordance with OQ8’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Security Operations
|
- Ensure the security of facilities, assets, and personnel.
- Monitor security systems, including alarms and cameras, for any suspicious activity.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter and detect unauthorized access.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, such as breaches, alarms, or disturbances.
- Enforce access control procedures, including verifying identification and issuing visitor passes.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed for investigations or assistance.
- Maintain accurate records of security-related incidents, actions taken, and personnel movements.
- Conduct security risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Provide security awareness training to employees and contractors.
- Assure proper deployment and availability of Security officers to protect people and property and maintain crowd control.
- Assure permanent and regular patrol services, door checking, gates, and windows for signs of unauthorized entry.
- Assure the proper identification of irregularities (such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, lights left on, equipment malfunctions, unlocked security doors) and report incidents or problems to the appropriate authority.
- Coordinate and follow up the response to alarms and periodically verify/evaluate the alarm system and all communication protocols and systems.
- Report suspects to police or order to apprehend offenders when appropriate and detain them until police arrive.
- Monitor and assure proper availability and functioning of computer alarm systems, closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems and communicate by radio with mobile units to address alarms.
- Assure proper Issuing of security passes, give directions, and make security arrangements for authorized visitors.
- Detect and report fraud, shoplifting, and other unlawful acts by employees or patrons of business establishments.
- Provide armed protection for specific organizations (banks, for example).
- Provide aid to third parties, the public, and clients when necessary.

Security Governance
|
- Prioritize (ordering) preventive and emergency actions onsite to protect people, assets, and the environment from any potential or actual physical risk.
- Develop statistics and indicators to assess the security services at the designated area.
- Collaborate with the integration of security controls throughout the organization.
- Ensure the security process is governed by organizational policies and practices that are consistently applied.
- Require that data with similar criticality and sensitivity characteristics are protected consistently regardless of where in the organization it resides.
- Enforce compliance with the security program in a balanced and consistent manner across the organization.
- Coordinate information security with physical security and ensure that an effective information security awareness program has been implemented throughout the organization.
- Assure the proper availability of Security services to protect people and properties.
- Aid the public and clients on security matters when required.

Crisis Management and Emergency Response
|
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct drills and exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response protocols.
- Coordinate with emergency services and first responders during crisis situations.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and visitors during evacuations or lockdowns.
- Assess and address any vulnerabilities in emergency preparedness and response.
- Investigate security incidents and accidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Consult with external agencies and organizations for mutual assistance and support during emergencies.

Security Administration and Compliance
|
- Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security.
- Manage access control systems and databases to ensure accurate records of personnel and visitor movements.
- Review and update security policies, procedures, and protocols in line with best practices.
- Conduct security audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide security-related reports and updates to management as required.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of security equipment and technology.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on background checks and screening processes for personnel.
- Manage security-related documentation, such as incident reports, investigations, and disciplinary actions.

Education requirements
|
The minimum qualification required is Diploma in Security or bachelor’s degree.
|

Bachelor
|
|
8+ years of relevant experience
|
- Relevant experience as a security guard, officer, or military police.
- Relevant professional qualifications in security required.
- Strong knowledge in applying risk management techniques.
- Knowledge in incident investigation
- Knowledge, background, and training, in all security System Administration (access, control, CCTV, etc.), to enable him/her to supervise his/her team and processes.
- Background: Ex-Military or Security professional Officer (preferred but not required).
