Job purpose

Manages, plans & organizes Asset Integrity department/team across multiple sites to address all technical issues in core engineering disciplines to support under VP Asset integrity ; through; (1) Running the plants, incidents, (2) acting as owner of Asset standards, through overseeing and developing Inspection Services that ensures mechanical availability, integrity, and safety of static equipment & piping in OQ8 facilities,  (3) Support Operations in meeting all regulatory and industry standards; in order to ensure the highest levels of services,  quality, safety and productivity to potentially support the growth and diversification of OQ8 products and optimize business performance and in turn profitability.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Asset Integrity Services long-term strategic plan in alignment with the function and organisation strategies.
  • Develop Asset Integrity Services business plans to ensure the achievement of function and organisation financial and strategic objectives.
  • Report progress against the Asset Integrity Services business plans, opportunities, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken and course correction actions, etc. as required, to make an informed decision.
  • Leadership
  • Lead and guide a motivated, engaged, high performing and capable team in order to deliver the department business plan.
  • Prepare and recommend the Asset Integrity Services budget in alignment with the respective department business plan.
  • Monitor the Asset Integrity Services financial performance (OPEX and CAPEX) against the approved budget to ensure alignment with set budget guidelines, identify areas of unsatisfactory performance and recommend performance improvement opportunities. 
  • Ensure systematic and timely inspections and recommendations to maximise static equipment & Piping mechanical availability 
  • Establish and implement (RBI) Risk Based Inspection programs and plans which ensures focused and optimised inspections in order to optimise inspection and maintenance costs through a focused process and system  
  • Ensure procedures and systems in place for systematic failure analysis to achieve reduced repeat failures and defect elimination
  • Identify and implement specialised inspection programs to minimise intrusive inspections and maximise equipment mechanical availability
  • Establish systems and procedures to ensure internal project QA/QC in order to minimise failures due to poor quality
  • Coordinate with Asset integrity functions to provide inputs based on observations from failures for continuous improvement and design specifications
  • Review corrosion monitoring programs to identify and recommend timely actions in order to improve mechanical availability.

  • Ensure that Asset Integrity Services recommendations and reports are accurate, relevant and timely that will lead to stakeholders being able to make informed and timely decisions.
  • Present regular and ad-hoc management reports on new opportunities, highlight critical issues and challenges and provide strategic insight to ensure effective decision-making.

Education requirements

Minimum Qualification for this position is a degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering or similar.

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

  • 12 + years of total  experience within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant  experience in a similar role 
  • Must have industry certifications such as ASME, API, NDT or NACE
  • Experience in the Refinery / Petrochemical industry  
  • Knowledge in codes, standards, NDT, materials, damage mechanism, and Inspection best practices for new constructions as well as operating plants
  •   Knowledge of latest Engineering International Standards.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Software Business applications (PI, LIMS, SAP, etc.) Solid works and Auto CAD 3D
  • Plant Design Management System (PDMS)
  • Understanding of Process (P&IDs / PFDs) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications such as SAP.
  • Experience in handling FEED/EPC Contracts
  • Knowledgeable in HSE plans related to construction/project activities.
