ROLE PURPOSE

 

To manage the timely and effective maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure trouble free and minimum down time, as well as ensure the availability of necessary tools and materials required to fix equipment in normal and / or emergency situations and manage the carrying out of all maintenance electrical works, overhaul and repair of all electrical equipment in a timely, efficient and safe manner, while ensuring all safety measures are accounted for and followed by all related parties.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  1. Strategy Development
 

Contribute to the development of sectional strategy as cascaded down from the departmental strategy and oversee its implementation throughout the section and its operations, to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across Marafiq.

 
  1. People Management

Manage the section team of direct and indirect reports through effective recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning, in order to maximize team performance and achieve sectional objectives.

 
  1. Operational Management

Manage the section’s daily operations by providing expertise, enabling teamwork, and aligning processes, in order to achieve high performance standards and meet established targets.

Prepare, maintain, and improve standing and work instructions in own area of responsibility.

Examine the time sheet and arrange and look over the overtime works in the Electrical section to ensure their necessity.

Assist in checking the Vendors’ Quotation Evaluation prior to the initiation of the purchase orders.

 
  1. Budget Management
 

Contribute to the development and consolidation of the sectional budget and monitor the section’s financial performance versus the budget, to ensure the exercising of financial authority within established limits and the control of sectional budget expenditure.

 
  1. Overseeing Execution of Actions
 

Manage and supervise the assigned tasks in the Electrical section and store at the power plant and supervise the proper implementation of the maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities.

 
  1. Forecasting Resources
 

Forecast and procure spare parts, tools, services, and other resources required by the Power Station in own area of responsibility against the annual budget.

 
  1. Review & Assessment

Follow-up, review, assess, and develop the Operation Readiness Plan (ORP) and the Business Management System (BMS).

Check the feedback received regarding the Maintenance Management System and provide feedback to the related stakeholders.

 
  1. Electrical Maintenance
 

Plan and supervise predictive, preventive, and corrective Electrical maintenance work as well as troubleshooting according to guidelines of the Maintenance Manager.

 
  1. Safety Measures

Supervise and maintain the process control and facilities safety protection system with EHS supervisor, for example, Fire Alarm and Protection Systems according to safety standards.

Prepare the Electrical Isolation/De-Isolation procedure to ensure safety at work.

 
  1. Policies & Procedures
 

Contribute to the development and manage the communication and implementation of the section’s policies and procedures to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are clearly communicated and duly fulfilled.

 
  1. Health, Safety & Quality
 

Contribute to the management of sectional compliance to all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.

 
  1. Continuous Improvement
 

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘leading best practices’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

 

Educational & Professional Qualifications and Experience

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised University or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Proficiency in English is a must, Arabic is a plus

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 to 8 years of direct and relevant experience as Electrical Maintenance Engineer
  • Experience in using methods and techniques of maintaining and repairing power plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities
